Death Penalty: Yes in Principle, No in Practice

Imagine you are a member of an isolated tribe composed of 20 members: five men, five women and ten children. Imagine further that this tribe is on the edge of existence with the efforts of every adult being needed to assure the continuation and wellbeing of the tribe. Imagine even further that a stranger walks in from another village; and kills one of the men. What is to be done about this?
The first thing that is to be done is to protect all of the other members of the village from his predation through, at least, the incapacitation of the stranger. Say, through capturing him and tying him up. But what next?
In this tribe, is there any justice whatsoever to taking the limited food from the remaining members of the tribe, compromising their already meager diets, in order to sustain someone who, if he were to escape, might endanger others? Would there be any justice at all in taking food from the surviving children of the man who was killed and using it to feed the prisoner?
No. In this tribe, the only real answer to the criminal, the only real justice, is death.
It is fundamentally WRONG to expect the victims of a criminal, particularly a criminal who has slain a family member, to impoverish themselves in order to sustain him. The fact that in this example I am speaking of a small tribe does not change the principle when scaled to the size of a society where instead of sustaining the criminal directly through food; he is sustained indirectly through taxes. It is a moral insult of the most egregious sort to expect a father's paycheck to pay for the medical care of a man who raped and killed his daughter.

Weaponizing Mozart

British authorities are stark raving mad
In recent years Britain has become the Willy Wonka of social
control, churning out increasingly creepy, bizarre, and fantastic
methods for policing the populace. But our weaponization of
classical music—where Mozart, Beethoven, and other greats have been
turned into tools of state repression—marks a new low.
We’re already the kings of CCTV. An
estimated 20 per cent of the world’s CCTV cameras are in the UK, a
remarkable achievement for an island that occupies only 0.2 per
cent of the world’s inhabitable landmass.

Obama Administration: More Civil Rights Enforcement in Schools

Enforcing 'equal outcome'
Education Secretary Arne Duncan signaled Monday the Obama
administration’s intention to step up enforcement of civil rights laws
that apply to schools and colleges, many of which are often ignored.
In remarks delivered in Selma, Ala, timed to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the marches
in which civil rights protesters were brutally attacked by police,
Secretary Duncan said, “The truth is that, in the last decade, the
Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has not been as vigilant as it should
have been in combating gender and racial discrimination and protecting
the rights of individuals with disabilities.
But that is about to
change.... We are going to reinvigorate civil rights enforcement.”

Cultural Genocide in Dixie

The South was right. Get over it.
by James Edwards
Of all the issues that animate me to action this one strikes to the very marrow of my bones. I will fight many battles in the court of public opinion, but when you denigrate the Confederacy and spit upon the South's great legacy, you are attacking my family. And the day you attack my family is the day you'll see me take to the streets. We covered, at great length during our February 27 broadcast, the vicious attacks of Cultural Genocide being levied against Southern Heritage from the campus of Ole Miss. Playing their role in this unforgivable assault on our people is none other than the infamous Tuohy family, made popular in Hollywood by the film The Blind Side. We've provided ample commentary about the disturbing tenets of that film, so let us focus now on the issue at hand.

American Taliban Gadahn Arrested
|
Report; Posted on: 2010-03-07 12:29:37 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
|
The treason charge carries the death penalty if he is convicted. He was
also charged with two counts of providing material support to a
designated foreign terrorist organization.
The American-born spokesman for al-Qaida has been arrested by Pakistani intelligence officers in the southern city of Karachi, two officers and a government official said Sunday, the same day Adam Gadahn appeared in a video urging U.S. Muslims to attack their own country.
The arrest of Gadahn is a major victory in the U.S.-led battle against al-Qaida and will be taken as a sign that Pakistan,
criticized in the past for being an untrustworthy ally, is cooperating
more fully with Washington. It follows the recent detentions of several
Afghan Taliban commanders in Karachi, including the movement's No. 2 commander.

It has been a while since I have agreed with Howard Dean. Well, here we go: dogs and cats sleeping together. Dean had a sobering message for Democrats on this healthcare vote. He says, "The plan, as it comes from the Senate, hangs out every Democrat who's running for office to dry -- including the president, in 2012, because it makes him defend a plan that isn't in effect essentially yet."
I guess Dean just hasn't been listening to Nancy Pelosi. We were, though, when Pelosi told Democrats that they should be willing to sacrifice their jobs by voting for ObamaCare. Yup, set the government takeover of healthcare into motion, even if they know it will cost them re-election.

House liberals (1) pressed President Barack Obama on healthcare reform Thursday and left the White House without making any commitments to vote for the final bill.
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, told The Hill that liberals challenged Obama on the lack of a public health insurance option and other provisions in the Senate bill the president has endorsed.
Lee said Obama said he still "strongly supports" a public option, but "the votes aren't there."

Donations From Americans for Haiti Top $1 Billion

To what end?
Experts who track charitable giving say donations from Americans for earthquake relief in Haiti have passed the $1 billion mark.
The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University has been monitoring donations received by 91 charities engaged in Haiti relief since the quake on Jan. 12. The total surpassed $1 billion as of Friday. About one-third of it has gone to the American Red Cross.
The Chronicle of Philanthropy says other major recipients of Haiti donations include Catholic Relief Services, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and the U.S. wing of Doctors Without Borders.

If Ron Paul Was President

"Both Pat Buchanan's
views on the necessity of an ethno-cultural core AND Ron Paul's views
of the dependence of liberty on a sovereign nation state are correct.
We would prefer that Ron Paul articulate both views, but he only has
the latter. Nevertheless, even this latter view, especially combined
with his specific policy proposals, would be an enormous step forward
for our people." (LINK)
by Ron Paul
Since my 2008
campaign for the presidency I have often been asked, “How would
a constitutionalist president go about dismantling the welfare-warfare
state and restoring a constitutional republic?” This is a very
important question, because without a clear road map and set of
priorities, such a president runs the risk of having his pro-freedom
agenda stymied by the various vested interests that benefit from
big government.
Of course,
just as the welfare-warfare state was not constructed in 100 days,
it could not be dismantled in the first 100 days of any presidency.
While our goal is to reduce the size of the state as quickly as
possible, we should always make sure our immediate proposals minimize
social disruption and human suffering. Thus, we should not seek
to abolish the social safety net overnight because that would harm
those who have grown dependent on government-provided welfare. Instead,
we would want to give individuals who have come to rely on the state
time to prepare for the day when responsibility for providing aide
is returned to those organizations best able to administer compassionate
and effective help – churches and private charities.

Anti-white politically correct insanity
An anonymous tip led to the arrest Tuesday night of two MU students
in connection with last Friday's scattering of cotton balls in front of
the MU's Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center.
Sean D. Fitzgerald, 19, and Zachary E. Tucker, 21, were arrested on
suspicion of second-degree tampering. Police are pursuing the charge as
a hate crime, making it a felony. Chancellor's Statement
"Based on the information available to me, and in accordance with the
University of Missouri’s Student Conduct Code (as outlined in the
Collected Rules and Regulations, Chapter 200), I have determined it is
in the best interest of the university community to temporarily suspend
those students, Sean D. Fitzgerald and Zachary E. Tucker, who have been
arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident that occurred on
Feb. 26 at the front entrance of the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture
Center, pending the outcome of the formal student conduct process.
