Biggest Election Push Ever for British National Party

British patriots on the move

After ironing out any discrepancies, not helped by the holiday weekend we can finally announce that the 2007 elections being held next month will see the biggest ever BNP presence.

The Party is contesting for the first time ever a full slate of candidates for the Regional Lists in both the Scottish Parliamentary and Welsh Assembly elections which allow us to qualify for radio and television party political broadcasts in the respective home countries. With a PR system in place in both Wales and Scotland, which is favourable to smaller parties there is a very real possibility that with just 6-7% of the vote both chambers could see BNP members elected to office.

The Party is contesting a record number of seats at district, borough and also at town and parish level. A total of 827 seats are being fought across England and Scotland with vast areas of the country seeing a BNP candidate for the very first time. The British National Party is fielding more than twice as many candidates compared to any previous occasion. More than twice the number fielded by the old National Front when it was at its peak in the local elections in the mid 1970s, and more than twice the number fielded by the British National Party itself last year (and that then was a record for the BNP!). This is tremendous testimony to the spectacular growth the BNP has witnessed over the last year. It is a major achievement by the local unit organisers and agents around the country who have been out recruiting our brave candidates and obtaining thousands of nomination signatures this last couple of weeks.

No longer is the party confined to the predominantly urban areas of the West Midlands, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire where we have already established ourselves and where we aim to build on our success. This year new areas of Britain which even twelve months ago it would have been difficult areas for us to secure the number of signatures needed to contest an election are witnessing BNP candidates. Few counties are unrepresented; we have candidates standing for the first time in Cornwall, rural Dorset, Staffordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Glasgow and North East Scotland.

Full slates of candidates are being fielded in Birmingham, Leeds, Thurrock and Sunderland. The hard work being carried out by teams of campaigners across the country need all the assistance they can get; we need more people to help leaflet, help canvass, man polling stations and ensure that the fantastic effort undertaken so far yields rewards on the day.

If you want to see a BNP candidate elected in your district, borough or town do not leave it for others, make contact with your local organizer and volunteer to assist. Anyone disappointed that there is no BNP candidate standing in their own ward or town have only themselves to blame but there is always next year!

Let’s make sure the brave men and women who have put their heads above the parapet for 2007 get the very best support each one of them deserves. It’s time to make a difference.
