Seattle: March Likely To Disrupt Downtown Traffic, Buses

Seattle faces chaos as pro-immigration march steps off

A march from Seattle Center to downtown Seattle and back again will likely snarl traffic and delay buses on Tuesday during the afternoon commute, transportation officials said.

The march — which starts at 4 p.m. — will happen at about the same time baseball fans will be heading to Safeco Field for a 7:05 p.m. Mariners game.

Marchers will leave Seattle Center at about 4 p.m., travel south on Fifth Avenue North and Fifth Avenue, go west on Pine Street, north on Fourth Avenue, east on Broad Street, north on Fifth Avenue North and west on Harrison Street back into Seattle Center.

Officials at Metro Transit said no buses or traffic will be allowed to cross Fourth or Fifth avenues in either direction on east/west streets from Pine Street to Mercer Street during the march, which is expected to end at about 6 p.m.http://www.kirotv.com/news/13225648/detail.html?rss=sea&psp=news
