UK: Sedgefield Poll Shows Local Nationalist Growth

Sedgefield result is reason to celebrate

Champagne corks were popping last night in Sedgefield after the BNP scored its best ever parliamentary by-election in the party’s 25 year history.

By gaining 2,494 votes Andrew Spence came fourth beating the Independent and Green candidates and the 8.91% of the vote ensured we secured our deposit.

This is a huge leap forward in an area where we have only recently set up local units; the mix of farming and former mining areas of Co. Durham cannot be considered our traditional kind of support base but proves convincingly that the BNP has an appeal beyond those parts of Britain suffering on the fault lines of multiculturalism.

This was a strong anti-war, anti-tax, anti-immigration vote, issues which we had covered in our campaign literature and it was further a strong anti-establishment vote, with Labour’s vote tumbling by 14%. Our vote was more than three times that of UKIP and English Democrats combined, acting as a clarion call to those who are genuinely concerned about the erosion of our sovereignty by the institutions of the EU and those who want to establish an English Parliament that the BNP is the only serious party to back on these issues. Case of the missing placards

An anecdote from the campaign team shows that the BNP are now firmly entrenched in Sedgefield – our campaign team earlier this week were alarmed that a number of Vote BNP placards which had been secured to lampposts were disappearing over night. It was readily assumed that the local leftist opposition was to blame. However yesterday evening when the loud speaker car was touring the town it became apparent who had removed the placards.

A convoy of around two dozen vehicles followed our loud speaker car all adorned with the very same placards that had gone missing. The BNP is clearly a hit with the local youngsters at the wheel of their cars.

Congratulations are due to Andrew Spence, the hard working candidate, to Mark Walker acting as agent for the first time and persecuted by the local education authority for his membership of the BNP. Congratulations are due to everyone who turned out, often in atrocious weather to help Mark and Andrew secure this tremendous victory and thanks to everyone who contributed to the election appeal.

Everyone in the BNP should be proud of what has happened in Sedgefield. We have seen off our rivals easily and convincingly proved that we are the only nationalist party with any sort of appeal to the voters of Britain.
