Another Token Immigration Raid

“The only thing that will discourage business owners from hiring illegals is the certainty that they will go to jail if they continue to ignore the law.”

by Jeff Davis

Whenever our government tries to sneak through an amnesty bill, they first try to lull us into a false sense of security with a few token immigration raids. Right now, our Senate is trying to shove through the “Dream Act” –another treasonous mass amnesty bill. All patriotic Americans should go http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm and tell their Senators to vote against the “Dream Act.” While preparing to give amnesty to millions, our government rounded up a mere 51 illegals in Iowa.

The http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070914/ia_decoster_immigration_raid.html?.v=1 notes “The workers, most of them from Mexico, have been transported to various detention facilities in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and elsewhere, said Tim Counts, spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A judge will decide their fate at deportation hearings in Omaha, Nebraska… Federal agents conducted the 2 1/2-hour raid Wednesday. Some of the workers, including some juveniles and parents, were released and told to appear for their scheduled hearings.” Thanks to overcrowded prisons, it’s common for less dangerous prisoners to go free.

The http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070914/ia_decoster_immigration_raid.html?.v=1 continues “Austin ‘Jack’ DeCoster’ the founder of DeCoster Farms, has previously been investigated by ICE for hiring illegal immigrants. Agents have raided his farms at least four times since 2001, the last one in June 2006 when about three dozen workers were detained.Counts said ICE is investigating the incident but has not charged DeCoster in connection for the latest raid… ‘We go where the evidence leads us,’ Counts said. ‘It’s too early to know if charges will be filed.’ .. The DeCoster family, among the nation’s largest egg producers, has also had environmental problems in Iowa. In the late 1990s, Iowa classified DeCoster as a habitual violator of environmental regulations for problems that included manure runoff into waterways.” So when they aren’t polluting the water with manure runoff, they’re polluting the US with illegal aliens.

It’s pretty obvious this employer couldn’t care less about US immigration law. Unless and until Mr. DeCoster is dragged off to jail for employing illegal aliens, he will keep doing so. The best and quickest way to solve the illegal alien problem would be to jail employers. If there are no jobs, the illegal aliens will quit coming and have no reason to stay.

No one wants to be seen on the evening news dragged off to jail. Once it becomes obvious the government is serious, and a few dozen arrests of BUSINESS OWNERS are televised, other business owners will quickly start laying off the illegals and hiring Americans at a market rate to do the work.

The bottom line for most of these business owners is CHEAPNESS and GREED. These selfish motives need to be eclipsed by a very real FEAR that they will go to jail unless they hire only legal US citizens. A good example of greed is the housing industry in southern California. The cost of construction is about $100 to $200 per square foot. It is impossible to believe that Americans can’t be hired at $10 to $20 per hour to do that work. The only thing that will discourage business owners from hiring illegals is the certainty that they will go to jail if they continue to ignore the law.
