But big white guys with speed and great hands are only allowed to play tight end. Marc Colombo from Boston College, a one-time first round draft pick of the Bears, starts at RT, while Kyle Kosier anchors left guard. There’s a healthy amount of white backups — Joe Berger, Doug Free, Pat McQuistan, and Cory Procter. Brad Johnson, about to turn 39, is Romo’s backup.The Cowboys have just two white defensive players, both backups. Bobby Carpenter was the team’s first round draft pick in ’06 but still is not starting. He is currently listed as a backup at both inside and outside LB. LB Justin Rogers out of SMU is a rookie.
