A Halloween display featuring a hanging Michael Vick dummy is stirring racial tension in Tennessee.
Richard Hardaway has hung three fake corpses from a tree in front of his home in Madison, Tenn., one of them wearing a Michael Vick jersey.
Hardaway said it wasn’t the first time he had put the stuffed shirts in his front yard.
However, this year, some are seeing the display as racist.
“I was perplexed by the racism,” said Trevor Stephens. “I didn’t really know what to think, I didn’t expect this to be going on in kind of a major city.”
Hardaway denied that there were any racial undertones to the display.
“I’m not being racist or calling Michael Vick out,” Hardaway said. “It’s a Falcons jersey and I’m a Titans fan. I’m just putting it to good use.”
Micheal Vick hanged the dogs who didn’t fight well or lost.
