Orthodox Christian Serbs in Kosovo have been following tradition and celebrating Christmas by gathering and burning tree branches.

This is a traditional Orthodox celebration in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve which they celebrate on January 7, Euronew.com reported.

However, some Serbs in Kosovo fear this could be the last such celebration in their homes, as they could flee if the province’s ethnic Albanian leaders declare independence from Belgrade.

One young Kosovo Serb, collecting branches near Mitrovica, said he would not leave, but predicted lots of other Serbs would. He said that no matter what happened, he would stay and defend his home.http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=37752&sectionid=351020606
