How Saudi Arabia Deals with Illegal Immigrants

While Britons are expected to accept mass immigration, bogus asylum seekers, illegal immigrants and visa overstayers who can just carry on living here, seemingly impervious to court orders or criminal charges, while drawing thousands in benefits, Saudi Arabia deals with the problem in its own way.

The Saudi Arabian government department in charge of the Hajj – the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca – has announced its intention to summarily deport and fine anyone overstaying their Hajj visa – without the option of an appeal, the ability to stay on in that country while “the case is studied” or any such thing. If you get caught illegally living in Saudi Arabia, you get thrown out, simple as that.

This is of course, the correct and logical way to handle the issue – but is it not strange how Muslim countries can have such policies, and no-one says a word, but as soon as any European party (or government) tries to implement such a policy, the cries of ‘racism’ go up?

According to the General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia, in a statement issued on 28 January, the (Saudi) Kingdom’s regulations do not allow those who have come to the country with Hajj visa to stay back.The statement made it clear that extending assistance to those who are staying back either by lodging, employing or transportation constitutes a flagrant violation, and the violators will be liable for punishment which includes imprisonment and SR 10,000 in penalty.

The penalty will be charged according to the number of persons who are illegally staying back and receiving assistance. The residents who extends facilities to those who are staying back will be deported in addition to specified penalty.
