Is there any part of the “civil rights” industry that isn’t corrupt? You may not be aware of this, but the feds gave $10 million dollars to a “non-profit” group to pay for the sculpting of a statue of Martin Luther King, on the condition that they had to raise a matching amount privately.
Well, the 28 foot high sculpture is nearing completion, and the feds are now investigating the group that got the money. The details aren’t real clear, but it appears that they’re concerned that some of the money was pocketed instead. One of the reasons they’re concerned is that the sculptor hired is from http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=4181:’In a recent interview from his home in Changsha, China, Mr. Lei defended his work and said he was the victim of racial bias. “I wasn’t trying to express that King was confrontational, but that he was thoughtful,” the Chinese sculptor told Cox Newspapers. “I just want to focus on King’s ideals. … We shouldn’t look at the color of someone’s skin.”
Mr. Lei also defended Mao. “He isn’t as bad as some people think,” the artist told Cox, while acknowledging that the man who led China from 1949 to 1976 “had made some mistakes.”’
You know, like killing tens of millions of people. Other than that, he was a pretty decent guy.
