RE: My Struggles in Black and White

A response to self hate

Hello Ms. Brett;

We were very disappointed to read your column (here) which regretfully seems to underscore a growing trend in America for European Americans to denigrate themselves in subservience to non-white peoples. Of course, as you have so well demonstrated, it is only white Americans who are not permitted to acknowledge race. Then again, the federal government does acknowledge race since it is they who fund numerous ethnically centered groups with your tax dollars. Corporate funding is quite high as well.

In your piece you said: “I want race to simply not matter anymore.” Well as far as you are concerned it does not matter anymore, unlike the black lady you mentioned, which puts you and other like-minded European Americans at a distinct disadvantage in terms of a demographically based culture war that we are destined to lose if an awakening does not take place very soon. The ennobling mantel of victimhood has become so central to black identity that many blacks, lay persons as well as high profile hucksters, cling tenaciously to nostalgia for the bad old days lest they lose power over people like you and I.

Be proud of who you are and work to help others feel the same way. It really doesn’t hurt (here).

Very truly;

Board of Directors, European Americans United
