Hurry Up and Wait

“Public seems willing to wait on tax cuts.”
by Frank Roman

So says the reverential Associated Press (below) by way of yet another exciting ‘poll.’ Let us recall the persistent drumbeat lo-these-past-many-months from the Obamessiah; his gratuitous thundering promises of “tax cuts for the middle class” and tax hikes on rich people –which as many have pointed out would then go to people who don’t even pay income tax, etc. Let us also recall the cries of jubilation from sundry corners of the 96% black population that attended his rallies and voted for him ‘en racial mass’ because of this hopeful promise. Besides voting due to his race, of course.

All of a sudden now, according to the Associated Press, this same racially aware cohesive bloc of voters, alongside the duped young white liberals, is willing to wait for those all-important, long anticipated tax cuts and / or free money. Suddenly hysterical throngs have caught their breath and are now lucid, willing to wait for Him to “fix the economy?”

Not so fast. The Obamamessiah disciples over at the AP are preparing the other cult-of-personality worshippers for a long term diss-appointment. They know he can’t deliver the goods, at least not soon enough for the majority of his most ardent disciples and hard left moveon.org haters. They know his fe fi fo fum rock and roll crock was an empty (yet politically expedient) way to get himself into the Oval Office. It’s more important to prove to the socialist leaning rest of the world, the majority of which is non-white, that we truly are a liberal anti racist nation. So the supportive AP is throwing up a cover for the failure they suspect is coming. That’s all. The AP smells his potential failure, and wants to soothe the cultish masses.

ARTICLE:

People want the tax cuts promised during the presidential campaign, but may be willing to wait while President-elect Obama takes on the larger issue of fixing the economy.

Eightypercent say trimming personal tax rates should be a goal when the newpresident takes office in January, but only 36 percent say the cutsshould a very top priority, according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll. That was less than halfthe 84 percent who cited improving the economy as a No. 1 goal, and the80 percent who said creating jobs should be a paramount task.

“Idon’t think it’s going to work in this instance,” said Ryan Anderson,31, a Democrat from Bloomington, Minn., who thinks tax reductions wouldhave little impact on most families’ budgets. “That’s kind of likeshooting a BB gun at a freight train.”

Obama promised to cut taxes for working families during the campaign.

Evenfewer people — 29 percent — said another top priority should be Obama’splan to allow tax cuts to expire for families earning more than$250,000 a year. He has said he would use the revenue that would raiseto help finance some of his priorities.
