Introducing: the EAUduino!

by EAUduino Development Team

We are pleased to announce the culmination of EAU’s latest initiative: an invention put forth by our engineering team that technically-minded folks can use to create everything from an automatic lathe to an alarm system. That invention, released under the Creative Commons license, is the http://www.eauduino.org.

The EAUduino is a version of the popular Italian-designed http://www.arduino.cc for $29, but the next release when we run out of the pre-made EAUduinos will be in the form of kits at an even lower price.

By way of comparison, pre-built Arduinos are usually sold for around the same price, but they lack the real-time clock, load switching and noise-immune input circuitry of the EAUduino. the EAUduino website contains software examples demonstrating how to use its unique features.

So — what can you do with an EAUduino? The answer to that question is limited only by your imagination and technical skill. It has been used to automate the heating and lighting in a chicken coop, control the charging from a wind generator, automate a ham radio rig, make an intelligent burglar alarm system and more. Anything you can imagine automating can be done with an EAUduino.

Admittedly, in the world of pro-European-American activism, organizations generally produce and sell books and similar items; so an embedded-systems development platform is well off the beaten path. So — why did we invest the resources to develop this?

One issue we come back to repeatedly is economic self-sufficiency. This can take many forms, ranging from growing a garden to starting a home business. Economic self-sufficiency is the key to the survival of the European diaspora. It gives people the independence to speak their minds, the confidence to take care of their own, and a position of de-facto leadership around which other European-Americans can rally in tough times.

The EAUduino was created as a customizable core that enterprising folks can use to either make something for themselves that would otherwise be much more expensive to buy, or to create products that can be sold as part of a home-based business. The EAUduino is a kick-start for your own creativity.

To get started with the EAUduino, visit the http://www.eauduino.org, and in particular the section called the Arduino Playground and their tutorials.

Last, but not least, you might want to http://www.westernvoices.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=1&zenid=5bcd563ea988a2dff8605b8828319504. If you do, please read the website carefully as there is a special programming cable that you need to buy from a third party! Of course, if you are a heavy-duty do-it-yourselfer, you can also use the files on the website to build your own.

So that is the reasoning behind EAU’s latest initiative, the EAUduino: create the computational core that is widely supported and easily deployed so that your own creativity can be kick-started, thus leading to greater self-sufficiency.
