If you’re a young white man, you’d better learn some kind of trade.Colleges, corporations and governments are increasingly brazen aboutrefusing to hire white people, especially white men.
During the long years of Republican control, theall-white GOP “conference” would regularly bemoan its lack ofdiversity, and make extra efforts to recruit minority Senate candidatesand hire minority staff.
During the first five months of this year, with the Senate under thecontrol of its first African-American majority leader, Smith, topDemocrats bemoaned the lack of minority Senate staffers.
But instead of trying to recruit new hires, they fired nearly 200almost exclusively white workers and replaced them with a large numberof minority employees, many of whom were seen by their fellow workersto be unskilled at their new jobs.
The move produced severe racial tensions, made worse bythe fact that, as a high-level Democratic staffer confided, “We’ve beentold to only hire minorities.”
And be sure and note that as politics turn brown and black in America, its “leaders” are increasingly surrounded by thugs:
The most glaring example of the thug-like behavioroccurred on the Senate floor Wednesday as several burly, thick-neckedmen suddenly began flanking the podium in an apparent attempt byDemocrats, who claim to control of the chamber, to block Republicansfrom rushing up.
The move was shocking because the Senate already has severalprofessionally trained and experienced sergeants at arms, many retiredstate troopers, who do a fine job keeping order.
Several Democratic senators including Pedro Espada of the Bronx,John Sampson of Brooklyn and Malcolm Smith of Queens have also appearedwith bullish bodyguards and other “body men” for the first time ever.
