LAUSD Teacher Fired After Anti-Semitic Comments

No one is immune

Los Angeles – A Los Angeles substitute teacher was fired by the school district after making an Anti-Semitic comment on camera at an “Occupy LA” event.

Patricia MacCallister, who told us she’s not with the “Occupy” movement but believes in the philosophy, was seen in a Reason.tv video interview on October 12th.

In that interview, she said: “I think that the Zionist Jews that are running these big banks and the Federal reserve, which is not run by the federal government, need to be run out of this country.”

LAUSD Superintendent John Deasy had this response: “I want to emphasize that we condemn the remarks made recently by Patricia McAllister. Her comments, made during non-work time at a recent protest rally, were her private opinions and were not made in the context of District services. As a day-to-day substitute teacher, Ms. McAllister was an at-will employee. As of today, she is no longer an employee of the LAUSD.”

What does MacCallister have to say about what she said, and the district firing her? FOX 11’s Susan Hirasuna asked her — and got a response from the “Occupy” side — in the video report.
