Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron has adopted an African-American baby boy named Jackson, reports People Magazine.The 36-year-old South African-born actress, who has been a vocal advocate of adoption, was quoted as saying it is a disservice not to care for the countless unwanted children in the world. Theron told German In Touch Magazine last year that she would consider adopting a child even though she is a single woman, “I want a baby. If it would happen tomorrow, I would be very happy.’”Theron joins the ranks of other Hollywood Moms who have adopted Black children, such as Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Sandra Bullock and Mariska Hargitay. Clearly these actresses have no qualms about adopting transracially, yet there are some deep divides by many who say that it is a form of racial genocide.
