Memphis, Tenn.: Three Blacks Kill White Man for Trayvon

Family members note that there was no attempt by the shooter to take anything. Santucci’s wallet, cell phone, and other personal belongings were left behind undisturbed.

By now you’ve likely heard of the Australian baseball player shot in Oklahoma. But have you heard of the killing of David Santucci? He was killed by three African Americans likely in retaliation for the shooting of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

Family members of the murder victim say that the police are wrong to call this a “failed robbery.” They say the facts just don’t add up to robbery and think that a hate crime if more likely.

Memphis police are calling the shooting a “robbery gone wrong” after immediately arresting the three African American suspects.

Arrested were Mario Patterson, Dondre Johnson and Jerrica Norfleet.

Even as cops are saying it was an attempted robbery, though, the facts just don’t seem to speak to robbery but instead seem more like an execution.

it appears that one of the male assailants jumped out of a passing car, walked up to within ten feet of David Santucci, shot him, then ran back to the car which sped off.

Family members note that there was no attempt by the shooter to take anything. Santucci’s wallet, cell phone, and other personal belongings were left behind undisturbed.

Police admit that a single 9MM shell casing was about ten feet from Santucci’s body when they arrived.

Worse, family members say, one of the alleged killers’ Facebook pages was filled with photos and posts about Trayvon Martin before the account was sanitized. Suspect Mario Patterson’s Facebook page was closed down, but did have all sorts of Trayvon Martin content before it was disappeared down the Internet memory hole.

Santucci’s brother-in-law, Miguel De Diago, thinks he knows at least one reason why this hate crime is being called a “failed robbery”: tourism.

The murder happened right near Memphis, Tennessee’s famous Beale Street, a popular tourist hot spot.
