Apparently, somebody at the television station where he worked said mean things to him, and Dylan Roof of Charleston infamy set him off. Therefore, we suspect the media will try to paint this black fruit loop as a martyr deserving of idolatry and an inspiration to others because he squared up issues with all of us Neo-Nazis and stuff. That may be a bit difficult however because the killer admired the White Columbine shooters among others. Or, this story will simply vanish. Stay armed out there.
Virginia gunman’s suicide note reveals Charleston shooting inspired him to start race war
BRYCE WILLIAMS, the Virginia gunman also known as Vester Lee Flanagan II, sent a 23-page fax listing Charleston shooter Dylann Roof as the ‘tipping point’ which led him to buy a gun and shoot dead a reporter and cameraman during a live US television interview.
In the document he sent to ABC news, Williams said his reaction to the Charleston church shooting inspired him to carry out today’s attack.
He said: “Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15…
“What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims’ initials on them.”
In his rambling letter, which he called a ‘suicide note for friends and family”, Williams claimed he had been the victim of racial discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying, had been attacked by black men and white females and was attacked for being a gay black man.
He said: “Yes, it will sound like I am angry…I am. And I have every right to be. But when I leave this Earth, the only emotion I want to feel is peace….
“The church shooting was the tipping point…but my anger has been building steadily…I’ve been a human powder keg for a while…just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”
The disgruntled former reporter at the TV network shot dead his colleagues in cold blood during their morning TV broadcast earlier today.
Williams, 41, originally from Oakland, California, then shot himself hours after the initial attack when he was confronted by police on Interstate 66.
In a Facebook post, Virginia State Police earlier said the suspect had been transported to a local hospital with “life-threatening injuries”.
However, police confirmed this evening that the suspect had died in hospital at approximately 1.30pm local time (6.30pm BST).
At a press conference in Virginia this evening, officers said they would be investigating how the suspect knew that the two victims – reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27 – would be filming at the location prior to the attack.
Sheriff Bill Overton said: “It’s obvious this gentleman was disturbed in some way, the way things transpired in his life, it would appear things spiralled out of control.”
The earlier police statement read: “Shortly before 11:30 am, Virginia State Police spotted the suspect vehicle headed eastbound on Interstate 66.
“With emergency lights activated the Virginia State Police trooper initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle.
“The suspect vehicle refused to stop and sped away from the trooper. Minutes later, the suspect vehicle ran off the road and crashed.
“The troopers approached the vehicle and found the male driver suffering from a gunshot wound.”
