Bush came out of the meeting today in Washington D.C. and as if to show you how far gone things are, said that the meeting was a success and they all agreed there was to be no protectionism by any country involved; that this was a global problem and any protectionism would, as it had years ago, slow down the solution. Can you believe that? Whose president are you, Bush?

In the new James Bond movie, there is a scene where the Jamaicans are able to get a raise in their textile jobs, and the powerful leaders talk about how disruptive this could be for the businessmen involved. Apparently this is how the world operates. The people who have the fewest labor rights and benefits have the dubious pleasure of getting the garment manufacturing jobs.
