Welcome to Western Critique. This web site attempts to explore and explain the social and cultural decay that has beset the west in recent years.
The term “west” here mainly refers to Western Europe, North America and the Australia. As the title of the web site suggests, it will critique, or critically evaluate the state of political and social affairs in western society. The front page features a daily blog with comments on news stories or arbitrary musings by the author.
Overall the west is not in great shape. Even though the proliferation of computer technology and consumer electronics into our lives has helped to enhance long range communication, culture and recreation, the social atmosphere has deteriorated. Unwanted immigration is straining community cohesion and infrastructure. Traditional values and freedoms have been compromised. On a global stage we’re getting involved where we don’t need to be and where we’re not wanted. Western Critique does not support the intervention and meddling in other countries political affairs. It supports the sovereignty of other nations as much as its own. The 2003 invasion of Iraq has been a costly error for the US and its allies, claiming the lives of over 2,000 US servicemen and women, over 165 British personnel and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis both from direct and indirect action. The invasion showed not only disregard for international law, but also political leaders contempt for the public through their lies about weapons of mass destruction that did not exist, the reason used to justify the invasion.
The issue of global warming is now hot [sic] on the political agenda of western governments. There is no doubt that erratic weather has increased in ferocity and frequency in the last ten years. However, some governments have wrongly subscribed to the theory that mankind is to blame when scientists are divided over the actual cause. Western Critique believesclimate change is a precursor sign to global cataclysms in the near future.
Although this web site is written in a patriotic vein, unlike some nationalist web sites, it will not refrain from criticizing the behavior of the indigenous citizenry when justified. It is not intended to present western citizens as being totally unaccountable for the problems that are now manifestly obvious. It will feature commentary on unpleasant social malignancies such as juvenile delinquency, insolence and poor manners, political correctness, weakening identity, dumbing down, general unfriendliness, reluctance to uphold civic duties, a complete absence of idealism, and a misplaced understanding by the lemmings (the mindless sheep like behavior of the indifferent masses) as to what is really important for true progress. Britain will be the focus for most of these issues. Some people would like to reassure themselves that only government policy is responsible for these ills, but that is only half the story. I have traveled extensively to North America and other parts of Europe, and my observations have led me to conclude that England compares unfavorably in intellectual, social, cultural, and moral standards now to many leading nations.
